Fantastic Pizza... the closest thing to Chicago Style pizza in the area. Service is quick, and it's (imo) one of the best places to sit outside as the sun sets and people watch while listening to street performers.

I usually call in first, and order before I get there, since the pizzas may take a bit to get cooked... but the wait is DEFINITELY WORTH IT. My favorite is the large thick Hawaiian pizza.

This is just NOT. GOOD. I ordered through DoorDash because of the great reviews so I was surprised at how bad the food was.

First of all, it took an hour and 15 minutes to be delivered (although the original delivery time was supposed to be 35-45 minutes). Not a huge deal except that the food was cold. That could be on DoorDash but I've never really had issues with their delivery before.

The pizza, frankly, sucks. I ordered the "thick crust" Margherita (as opposed to "thin crust") expecting just a normal crust. This was like a Chicago deep dish. Definitely not what I wanted. Because it was cold, the cheese and crust had gotten hard. It wasn't at all appetizing.

I also ordered an Italian sub. This thing was a joke. The meat, little though there was, was not good quality and had an odd taste. Veggies were scant and nothing seemed fresh.

I threw out half of the food. Such a waste of time, calories, and money.

Bad food, bad service, bad ambiance, this is going to be a long review because there is just so much to be disappointed by at Bugsy's Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar.

It started going downhill from the moment we walked in. The hostess was very grumpy, as if it was inconvenient that my family had decided to patronize this business and make her get up from her chair. Our waitress was nicer (at least she smiled), but it took her a long time to show up and she rarely checked on us. As for the ambiance, I expected that because of the name "Bugsy's" and the fact that deep dish pizza is on the menu that this place would remind me of my native Chicago. Instead, the dark, dingy interior reminds me of an authentic medieval dungeon that I once toured in Sweden. (The fake dungeons at Medieval Times are much nicer than Bugsy's).

This could all be forgiven if the good were great...but it's not even good. We ordered chicken tenders for our toddler and they came out burned to a crisp. My toddler refused to eat them at all, and she eats CRAYONS so it's not like she has discriminating taste. And as for the pizza, it's like...imagine if times were tough at Chuck E. Cheese and Chuck told Pasqually to cut back on the quality of cheese in the Chuck E. Cheese pizzas. Just not good at all. We felt scammed after taking just one bite.

Alexandria is famous for its residents being violently opposed to any kind of change. But I suspect that nobody will complain when the Alexandria City Council finally votes to demolish this place to build a luxury townhouse for some Amazon executive. Save us, Jeff Bezos.

I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. The happy hour is a great deal and the atmosphere was what I expected. They were able to accommodate my large party which was great. Everyone seemed pleased with their food selections. My only complaint would be that I found the waiting staff a little weird.

We got away from the waterfront and boy are we glad we did! Just had an amazing salad and wings , which my friend and I split and we left FULL! The wings were amazing .. order the spicy: they are not burning hot!
Enzo came through with a quick delivery and a great follow up.
